It's quite easy to pair devices with a phone and their small size means they are easy to carry with you. Don’t worry about the storage, as there are two options for internal storage and more choices for expanding with an SD card. Many of the direct-drive trainers can go up to 2000w. While this is plainly ridiculous – I struggle to hit 700w – it can matter if you are a heavier rider, and your weight adds to the downward power on the pedals. Control
