About this deal

I find the HS70 Pro Wireless have an even keel of sound all around. When testing the headphones in CS:GO and PUBG on PC, I was really impressed. The bass was definitely present and didn’t drown out the rest of the frequency range. The HS70 Pro Wireless also has 7.1 surround sound that I can rely on. It’s clear where footsteps, shots, and general sounds are coming from. The HS70 Pro Wireless has equally revealing 7.1 surround sound on PC. The headband is very durable and shows great resistance when stretched out but is still bendable. The aluminum yolks that connect the headband with the ear cups are also top quality and I’m not worried about breaking them. On top of this, the hinges on the headband are metal which are of a quality that I haven’t found on other pairs of headphones. The HS70 is a wireless-only headset – there is no wired connection. The 2.4Ghz wireless connection is achieved with a USB dongle that plugs into your computer or PS4. Wireless range is rated at up to 40 feet, which is plenty when gaming at your desk or in a living room. I was able to go into the kitchen (which is next to our living room) and grab a drink without losing the connection. Going to the bedroom down the hall led to audible blips and skips, though. There is no Bluetooth capability, and without a wired connection, these are unusable with other sources like a smart phone. In other words, this is a gaming headset through and through. Corsair HS70 - Software The HS70 can only be used in stereo mode with the PS4 (7.1 Surround can only be enabled with the CUE software, which is PC-only). The stereo sound is pretty leftright direct, but still allows for some directionality to sounds. In Horizon Zero Dawn I was still able to get a good sense of where two scrappers where as I spun and dodged to get the perfect shot to take them down.

The USB external sound card allows access to the Logitech G Hub software on PC, which is truly outstanding. We saw it in the mic quality section, and I’ll go over it more in the sound quality section, but it’s a huge advantage because it significantly improves the headset’s capabilities. Corsair HS70 Pro Wireless Tie: [Logitech G Pro X & CORSAIR HS70 Pro Wireless] Build Quality Verdict Side by side comparison of the aluminum yolks and ear cups.Although the G Pro X have a much more advanced interface with the Logitech G Hub, it can be overwhelming at times. The HS70 Pro Wireless have the iCUE software, which isn’t as advanced but still allows you to adjust the lows, mids, and highs. The HS70 Pro Wireless uses the iCUE software to customize the sound. It has presets and even lets you create your own. It’s not nearly advanced as the Logitech G Hub, but it has a much more friendly interface for new users. Comparing sound quality on Console Logitech G Pro X Tie: [Logitech G Pro X & Corsair HS70 Pro Wireless] Sound Quality Verdict Close up look at the shape of each ear cup. For a fairly low price, the HS70 Pro Wireless offer good build quality. Nothing feels cheap about the HS70 Pro Wireless other than the detachable microphone. They really set the standard for high build quality in low-budget headphones, and are durable enough for long term use to support years of gaming. The most important factor is sound quality, and the HS70 Pro Wireless are the superior choice. I was surprised because both headsets offer very similar audio technical specifications with 50mm neodymium drivers and 7.1 surround sound. At the end of the day, the HS70 Pro Wireless were much more clear in sound direction, audio cues, and overall immersive experience.

The Logitech G Hub software can really personalize my audio for the game and makes for a much more immersive experience. Corsair HS70 Pro Wireless Corsair has massively supported the gaming community. They’ve donated over 1,000 pairs of headphones to schools with underprivileged students. On top of this, the Taiwan team sent keyboards, headphones, and mice to 18 primary and secondary schools throughout the region. Technical Specifications

Frequently asked questions about the Corsair HS70 Pro Wireless

This may be partially due to the aluminum band that makes up the headband. It’s so sturdy that it prevents the headband from completely molding over your head, instead only the center point of the headband rests directly on top. The 7.1 surround sound was distinct and useful in telling where footsteps, reload sounds, or shots in the distance were coming from. Explosions didn’t drown out the mids and the highs, and even when situations got chaotic, I was aware of my surroundings.

The G Pro X and HS70 are hands down two of the best gaming headphones I have ever tested and compared. Neither headset fails in a section and both offer a great product that’s reflective of their price. The substandard microphone build quality led me to wonder if the HS70 Pro Wireless are true to their claims of “ reducing ambient noise” from the microphone. The ear cups are properly cushioned with plush memory foam. They fit the entirety of my ear within the ear cups, and there is even some wiggle room. It would be nice to see the same cushion on the headband, as I feel they were close to nailing comfort. Build Quality The HS70 Pro Wireless have great build quality. The battery life is listed as up to 16 hours, which is more than enough to cover a few gaming sessions, unless you’re livestreaming a marathon on Twitch. While running a constant stream of music to test the battery life, they lasted just over 14.5 hours from full charge to empty. This pair of G Pro X are the League of Legends limited edition version and feature a blue and gold color scheme. The headband even has gold stitching. It’s easy to say that this is very appealing and one of the most attractive headset designs I’ve ever seen. Limited edition League of Legends design on the G Pro X that is very sleek with the blue and gold that even goes down to the stitching.Whether you’re a professional or casual gamer, the sound quality will meet your needs. The audio cues are direct and crisp and the 7.1 surround sound gives a clear direction of where sounds are coming from. The exception is on PS4 where the 7.1 surround sound isn’t supported and this slightly takes away from directional cues. The design for the HS70 Pro Wireless are a clear-cut winner. They come across as more professional and sleek than the Void RGB Elite Wireless, which have a much more exotic design. The G Pro X does not have 7.1 surround sound for console gaming. This makes my experience playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare less immersive. However, the headset still does a good job of separating the lows, mids, and highs. The G Pro X lose immersion and sound direction on console. The Void RGB Elite Wireless win for connectivity. I never experienced any latency or drop-out issues with them on PC or PS4. I was expecting the same performance from the HS70 Pro Wireless and was surprised that they cut out far more frequently. The headband has strong resistance which forces the ear cups inward. This creates a tight seal around my ears but there is constant pressure from the ear cups. The seal is so tight it makes the earcups hardly breathable, and after long sessions of gameplay, the ear cups get very humid.

I realized I was using the microphone without the foam windscreen. While I hoped applying the windscreen would fix the issue, it didn’t. The humming still occurs with the windscreen in place, however, my voice is a lot clearer. The HS70 Pro Wireless also lose 7.1 surround sound on console, making the sound less immersive, but are superb in every other area. The HS70 still have great audio on PS4, however, it’s more difficult to determine the sound direction without 7.1 surround sound. Unlike many gaming headsets coming out today, the HS70 Bluetooth doesn’t boost any virtual surround sound, but the spatial audio here is still solid. Surround sound effects built into games and movies came in accurately from different directions, giving me to enjoy a feeling of audibly being immersed in whichever I was doing at the moment. Both headphones perform similarly on console. In fact, they’re nearly identical, resulting in a tie. Overall Winner The headband is aesthetically pleasing but didn’t really enhance my comfort experience. The padding for the headband is stiff and tightly compacted due to the stitching, and it feels like a hard material on top of my head.

Should you use Corsair iCUE for the Corsair HS70 Pro Wireless?

There is a rubber cover for the mic port, although it isn’t attached and could very easily be lost. The microphone arm takes a firm press to attach fully and sits snugly in the port. The arm itself articulates very well and always kept the position I set. The lone button on the right ear cup is for turning it on or off, so there’s no worry of accidentally turning off the headset while you adjust volume or mute the mic. The memory foam ear cups are comfortable and the clamping strength of the headband isn’t too much, so I was able to play for hours at a time without getting a headache (which I am prone to). I could feel a slight bit of pressure on the top of my head where the headband rested, but the padding there was enough to allow me to forget about it and concentrate on gaming.
