It is such a light phone that the extra weight from a larger battery wouldn’t have bothered anybody. This is ramped up to an extreme degree with the introduction of Astrophotography: it recognizes the user is attempting to photograph the heavens and sets for a long exposure (nearly four minutes – so bring a tripod). It is fully functional and has been professionally refurbished, tested, inspected and cleaned to excellent condition by qualified sellers.

Not only is the battery capacity sufficient to run the larger display, but it also improves on the overall endurance of the smartphone. The camera placing and square design also gives Google a bit of shared DNA with Apple’s latest, but it’s still distinctive, and helps give the phone an overall solid and contrast-y look. Fortunately, you shouldn’t need to do that much battery management on the Pixel 4 XL, but it too could be better on the battery life front. The Pixel 4 XL’s 6GB of RAM definitely pales in comparison to other Android flagships, but we didn’t see any performance dips or other signifiers of memory limitations.Google's feature drops did not change anything in the image quality, but they do offer an additional function for the selfie camera. The Pixel 4 manages to capture more detail than the Pixel 3, handles white balance even better thanks to a machine learning-based algorithm, and improves on HDR, portrait mode, and selfies. While the latter aren’t widely implemented enough to be useful, the rest of the device lives up to its predecessors’ legacy, and it’s a supreme vehicle for the newly-improved camera. Even though the Pixel 4 camera is still the best on a smartphone in my opinion, it’s a lot harder to recommend this year’s Pixel.
