Again, if you are qualified to comment on this (that is, you own both, and can do a proper comparison) please let me know what the points of similarity are.While this is obviously hyperbole, I’ve come to imagine this as the scent of the morning after the pandemic ends. As there was so much going on in the perfume, I felt I had to put all my focus on my nose to isolate the notes and on deep inhalations I felt there was a sharp cardamom with the clovebud balancing the edges very lightly. Nothing can justify those horrendous costs for a single bottle (well, if it was Amouage + a small parcel on the Moon, why not? for about 8 hours i could smell the fragfance myself and other people for longer got about 6 compliments that this fragance suits me well and people asked me wich fragance it was.

The selection of rich woods and resins in the base add warmth and comfort to this distinctive fragrance.Over the hours, the fragrance weakens more and more until the next morning you can only sniff a hint of this sweet-spicy fragrance. I don’t smell iris, jasmine, or geranium in any individual way, though something vaguely “iris-like” seems strongest. The only thing I can compare it to is maybe something like millesime imperial, or Agua de Loewe EL for gorgeous fresh fruity vibes that are just devine.

In fact, I seem to be the only one who had an elemi-centric cocktail of mousse-y citruses with smoke and dry woodiness. Why they chose THIS scent for an exclusive / limited distribution is beyond me; it seems like this one was made for the masses. Now I'm not sure when this was released officially but It only just arrived the other week at Selfridges in time for winter when Beloved to me anyway is clearly more suited to the summer months. Thank God that urinal cake smell doesn't last too long (about 10-15 minutes) and then becomes a old school soapy gentleman fragrance. Specially selected woods and resins bestow a sense of strength and serenity, creating a timeless and distinguished fragrance for men.Overall I’m impressed by the complexity of the composition and how certain ingredients work together in perfect synergy to create different accords, however it was not for me as it smelled almost quite generic for an Amouage.

But the key player here no doubt is Jasmine giving this perfume much needed depth and a lift that separates this from your run in the mill high end designer freshies and taking into the elite prized line up of Amouage scents. GPH is darker and more linear, a more one-note incense scent that remains dry and slightly savoury through its life. Yet, regardless of the different manifestations of Beloved — from baby powder to sweet floral woodiness, leathered woods, or “grapefruit-inflected melting plastic” with “abrasive woods” — there seems to be a common theme in many of these assessments: disappointment. Beloved Man opens in a zesty spicy manner with some Grapefruit and an amazingly naturally refreshing note of Cedarwood. Recently I tried it again with a lighter spray and allowed it to settle; 30 mins later I was surprised. Beloved Eau de Parfum by Amouage is a woody Oriental fragrance with top notes of spicy black pepper and cardamom intensified with opulent floral notes in the heart.
