About this deal

Once I realised my skin was tolerating the cream well, I reintroduced my Vitamin A serum (Medik8 Crystal Retinal 10) to my routine. So, for people who are trying to apply products underneath makeup, using azelaic acid can be a struggle.

Cassandra wanted to love this product, but Ren is one of those “clean” skincare products that tend to be a little hit or miss. One thing to bear in mind is tret is a journey and you need to be prepared in case of irritation - Dermatica offer plenty of information and I had a clear idea of what to expect and what to do, meaning I actually experienced very mild side effects. It’s all about skin nourishment, hydration and protection to support my skin while I’m using irritating prescription actives. If you’re already using a retinoid, you might find that your skin is hardy enough to use this morning and evening but I generally prefer to use this just at night. You might experience some tingling to start off with (as is the case with most azelaic acid products) but your skin will quickly get used to it!

This one is fragrance-free and similar to The Ordinary, but it applies more elegantly, and Cassandra finds that it doesn’t ball up quite the same. You probably won’t need other acid exfoliants, the Azelaic should do a good enough job of keeping your skin turning over.

Check out my 7 Skins post for essential learning about hydration, it’s really important if you’re using prescription strength skincare.Once you add water, this cleanser then transforms into a milk that easily washes off without leaving any residue behind.
