I don’t know why, but I think the combo of the KBS shaft (one I’ve admittedly never used before) and the lower launching, tour-inspired flight from the Stingray TT gives me about 5-7 yards more than similar setups. With the knowledge and skill set in the leadership and ownership of this company INDI proves to be the next big up and comer in the professional golf industry. Being that both head designs are identical but with a different groove structure, it shouldn’t be alarming that the numbers are similar in just about every facet, except for spin.

Around the Green: Around the green, I was able to play a wide range of shots from a high-flop, to a one-hop stop, and even a low runner. I rarely ever miss the dead-center of the clubface, but in testing the Stingray TT’s center of gravity, I deliberately tried to miss the sweet spot. When new wedges come to the market, they are certainly fun to look at, but who should really be playing with these wedges? With a little extra of that material in the high toe section, shots that are struck in that vicinity when there is an open face, still come out with plenty of pop, which helps when in a bunker.After learning about the different models and how they perform during the Indi Golf Product Clinic, I was completely sold on the benefits these wedges would provide for my golf game. I’ve had such success with the 60 that I personally reached out to Indi Golf for the matching wedges to replace two of my old ones and fill the gaps better with different lofts. Sorry if this sounds mean but you average score is likely over 100 with that handicap (assuming by handicap you mean index). Performance: 8/10 WIth this wedge being non-conforming and designed to deliver that most spin possible, I hit several shots alternating between RTX and the Stingray. The shaft and grip are upgraded to a Dynamic Gold 120 and Lamkin Crossline 360 a premium combination that matches ideally with the feel and swing characteristics of the head.

The Indi guys feel that the “scoop” moves some of the weight to the perimeter, which makes it easier to hit.The leading edge on the FLX is straighter for workability and shot-making with a tour inspired look. I used a set of Snake Eyes 600w wedges for about ten years (my “holy grail,” and yes, they were beat to hell, but I didn’t care) because they just fit my eye so perfectly. For 2018, they released the same design but with tournament-legal grooves, with a promise that golfers would still see increased spin over other options on the market. What it’ll do is add some more meat along the edges of the wedge face, and that will effect feel and forgiveness. The topline is a bit bigger on the Stingray as well, but I prefer a slightly thicker top line and the larger face.

I’d be very interested in trying this out in 52* to see distance variance in a club I use for more full shots. With great spin comes the only negative: the wedges generate so much spin, that it can actually rough up a soft cover ball. Impact gets slightly louder when you miss the center, plus you get a clear feeling in your hands about where the ball met the face. TractionFace grips the ball with 22 full face grooves for spin on longer shots and a diagonal micro mill pattern on the face for incredible spin around the green.
