I wanted the bottle for the novelty of having a Anna Sui perfume, a mermaid theme, and a beautiful bottle. Mermaid is different enough from Libre, but they definitely speak to a similar moment in perfumery with Libre being more unisex and Fantasia Mermaid being a smidge more feminine in my estimation. Purchased this for the bottle as I thought it would make a great decorative piece and wasn’t fussed about the scent. It does pull “tropical” on me, and I think that’s because it resembles a tasty alcoholic beverage one might drink while on vacation. Mush, Mush mush and crushed the sugar into the sour grapefruit until the sugar dissolved into the grapefruit’s juice and segments and the grapefruit really juiced up!

There’s even a sticker with directions inside the box to show you how to put your finger in to spray it. And because scents reveal your essence, you'll receive recommendations that fit your olfactory personality like a glove. FANTASI MERMAID, to my nose is a lighter version of VICTORIA'S SECRET BOMBSHELL, and has a few added notes such as the salty-air note which makes FANTASIA MERMAID a bit more interesting and complex of a scent.I got a bit of fruitiness with floral notes very sugary vibe and what a pretty mermaid would smell like.

I'll wear it from time to time but it might end up as a giveaway--I can't imagine using the whole bottle when there are hundreds of scents beckoning to me daily. After about an hour of wear it fades to a skin scent on me, and now I'm left with nothing but a very faint whisper of kid's fluoride treatment. Anyway got home and I love the pretty mermaid bottle and how the turquoise liquid in the bottle looks like the sea. Jumping on the packaging bandwagon,I had to have at least 1 small bottle of this in my perfume pantry.As I've written the review and I've let the test sit on my skin for an hour with no change to that screeching top note, I've come to realize it's going back. I bought a set of 4 Anna Sui minis - I love them all and they're the best visual addition to my perfume shelf by far.
