Shadow’s Edge 6mm Deep Yellow Flowers. I think the grass on these look a little fake but that’s why I build up so much stuff around them.

Stormhost Silver paint from Citadel Colour is a great choice for painting a variety of Warhammer 40K Space Marine armies. Here are three specific armies that I would recommend painting with Stormhost Silver: Finally, I glue on all the sundry vegetation, as I don’t want to get paint on it. The key to this stuff is layering it and slowly building it up to look overgrown. I use some slightly thinned PVA glue for all of it. Stormhost Silver paint from Citadel Colour can be used in combination with several different colors to create a variety of effects. Here are three colors that I would recommend using with Stormhost Silver:

Weathering

Stormhost Silver paint from Citadel Colour is a high-quality acrylic paint that is specially formulated to provide a smooth, metallic finish on miniature figurines. Its pigments are carefully selected to provide excellent coverage and durability, making it an ideal paint for use as a base coat or for highlighting and accenting other colors. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced miniature painter, this paint will be a valuable addition to your palette. Stormhost Silver is a cool silver color that is perfect for painting metallic parts of miniatures like armor, weapons and other machinery, it can also be used to create an analogous color scheme. It’s a versatile paint that can be used as a base coat for a variety of different projects and styles, and it’s also perfect for painting the details of miniatures. What armies to paint with Stormhost Silver Stormhost Silver is nearly identical to Runefang Steel in color. It is very slightly brighter, but you will not notice it if you mix it into your army. It also is thinner and covers much better than Runefang. Right, now that’s over – I coated the models in liquid silver. This is crazily bright and shiney and looks pretty awesome, it is also ridiculously messy!

Like, that’s super helpful. The embedded video explaining metallic paints doesn’t give very much information either, and it leaves the hobbyist wondering Step 5: Drybrush highlight color for the barricades flat parts. For this, I used Yriel Yellow and Evil Sunz Scarlet Right, so with a new project, I decided to mix it up and try some with a Metallic undercoat and some with Grey Seer Undercoat. After that, I experimented with Contrast Iyanden Yellow versus T aimiya Gold Leaf and Retributor Gold to see what I liked best.

Step 2: Spray the barricades with your chosen color primers, I used white and yellow here, concentrating your spray to the top half.

The Army Painter’s new metallic colour Warpaints are regular acrylic-based metallic paints, non-toxic and dilutable with water or acrylic medium of your choice. They apply well with a paintbrush or, thinned with airbrush thinner, with an airbrush, too.

Gauss Effect

So, what do I think about these? I do like them, there are a few issues with them compared to the old way of doing things though. From what I can tell, the suggested way of painting with these is to paint the areas with Stormhost Silver and then a coat of Gemstone. While the gloss of the paint and the metallic undercoat help it shine, there isn't much depth to it. It should help beginners with painting gems, but more experienced painters will want more detail and that s why I went with the gradient of silvers underneath. I do this for a darker, richer gold than the Liberator Gold based recipe. There is nothing wrong with turning out Liberator Gold -> Agrax Wash -> Liberator Gold Drybrush -> Auric Gold Drybrush for a very bright gold, but I wanted a deeper gold. The last time I painted a Tyranid model for my custom hive fleet was pre-Contrast paint, so it was nice to try out the new colours and find some much faster ways to get to a good result (shout-out to Striking Scorpion Green for that vivid tropical emerald). Contrast paints and Tyranids are such a perfect match. Darcy: Termagant Experiments
