About this deal

Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! is a classic American animated television series that premiered in 1969. The show follows the adventures of a group of curious teenagers, Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy, and their talking Great Dane, Scooby-Doo, who is the star of the show. They travel in their psychedelic van, the Mystery Machine, and solve mysteries involving supposedly supernatural creatures and villains. Assuming the gang lives in the continental U.S., why is the Mystery Machine here? It would have been far easier for them to get a rental car. Indeed, this episode is the very first instance of the Mystery Machine appearing where it would make no sense. The costume was worn by a criminal that Mystery Incorporated captured and brought to justice. The costume was then donated to the Coolsonian Criminology Museum.

The Witch Doctor should've made it clearer to which village was to be stayed away from because it's not the village Scooby and Shaggy had the luau on, it was the one with the secret underwater cavern, which would make more sense since this was the village Shaggy was talking about going to with the gang right before he made his warning. The Indian witch doctor warns the gang that they will "meet the fate of Spanish conquistadores" if they do not leave. Spanish conquistador Francisco Vázquez de Coronado explored the southwestern United States between 1540 and 1542; he was among the first Europeans to view the Grand Canyon. The gang travel to Hawaii, where they discover a scientist and his secret project - turning volcano soil into valuable gems. Soon, a witch doctor starts haunting the volcano, so the gang must put their vacation on hold to protect the gems. Why was Gar surprised to see the symbol? One would expect the cemetery's caretaker to be familiar with what the Wilcox headstone looks like, especially considering how it ties into a well-known aspect of local history, unless he was faking a lot of surprise, being complicit with the witch. Due to toon physics, Shaggy can survive unharmed being run down by a wild boar, and falling out of a tree with Scooby and Velma landing on top of him. The lining around the top of Scooby's collar turns brown a couple of times as Shaggy tells Mr. Simms about the non-part of the tour the rest of the gang want to go to and how there won't be a luau there.

Even though Squire Marley and the mob apologize for what they did, they should also be prosecuted by the law for their vigilante act as well as the attempted murder of Arlene and Scooby. While Scooby has his head out of the crate, two of the holes have simply been covered in brown even if it doesn't match Scooby's movements. When Scooby looks at Shaggy trying to pull the lever, his dog collar is miscoloured like his regular one. (A bit of his body below his collar is also missing so it looks like his head is floating.) When he then reacts to helping Shaggy, the new dog collar is completely in blue. Arlene apparently never knew her sister despite the fact the two were twins. This should be very impossible as there was no way Arlene could not have seen her sister during their youth. However, it could be implied Arlene's sister was put up for adoption or placed in foster care which would likely be the reason Arlene never knew her. However, it can be also argued that Arlene never had a twin and that her 'twin' only pretended to be her long-lost sister and even used makeup to mimic her appearance, and that she wrote 'Gemini' on the family records.

It's unknown why Scooby was roaming in the middle of the neighborhood by himself without the rest of the gang. He doesn't do that again. It's possible like the SDMI Scooby said about walking himself, as revealed in The Man in the Mirror, that this Scooby also does the same.

The piglets also start from whitish-red when they walk out from the bushes to flashing completely white when they run over Scooby and Shaggy. Production-wise, this is one of the rare instances, perhaps even the only time, that Scooby is on a leash; chronologically, Scooby had been put on a leash in the A Pup Named Scooby-Doo episode A Bicycle Built for Boo! After the mob notices Shaggy, another mob appears out of nowhere, and grabs Shaggy, taking Squire Marley's lead.

Scooby-Doo! 13 Spooky Tales Around the World DVD set released by Warner Home Video on May 15, 2012. When Scooby flipped the drum he was hiding in, before the lighter blue was above the darker blue. After he flipped it, the colors remained the same position when it should have been the darker blue above the lighter blue. The viewers briefly see through Scooby's eyes while he wears Velma's glasses. Considering how strong Velma's prescription must be to accommodate her terrible eyesight, it would be impossible for Scooby to see perfectly through her glasses. Also, dogs are partially colorblind so Scooby would not see all the colors humans do. Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!: The Complete Series DVD set released by Warner Home Video on November 21, 2011. When the gang encounter the Indian Witch Doctor, when Scooby runs and says "I see him! I see him!", his mouth never moves.

Straight Outta Nowhere: Scooby-Doo! Meets Courage the Cowardly Dog (Home Media) DVD released by Warner Home Video on September 14, 2021.

This episode includes examples of the following tropes:

The Witch Doctor is stated as a past villain in the theatrical film Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, where the costume was put on display in the Coolsonian Criminology Museum. What century do the townsfolk think they are living in? Their behavior, speech, and mannerisms were greatly exaggerated to resemble real 17th-century Puritans.
