One known sentient member of the planet was captured by its benevolent counterparts and imprisoned inside a crystal sarcophagus for crimes against humanity. Since then, for aeons, this being has plotted its escape, possessing animals and manipulating humans in attempts to free itself. A long running rumor stated that Tim Curry (a long time Scooby-Doo fan) was originally going to star as Emile Mondavarious. Shaggy's the only human member of the gang to have a proper girlfriend ( Scooby-Doo and the Reluctant Werewolf, WNSD: A Scooby-Doo Valentine), and think about being in a committed relationship. ( Scooby-Doo and the Alien Invaders)Scrappy morphs into a giant monster named Scrappy Rex who he chases Scooby and Shaggy about. Fred and Velma flee from his minions while Daphne fights the wrestler on top of the island. Eventually, the gang's plan succeeds; everyone's souls are freed and returned to their rightful bodies and Scrappy Doo reverts to his true form. Shaggy finds the real Mondavarious in a hole and the police arrest Scrappy and his minions, and Fred decides to give Velma the credit she deserves. But before the gang can even relax, the news of another case for them arrives. After his arrest, Scrappy says " I would've gotten away with it too, if not for you meddling sons of-" before being cut off. Casey Kasem played Shaggy for a time where he was portrayed as a vegetarian, by request of Kasem, who is a vegan. In the past, Shaggy had a tendency to overeat and eat anything he could. Kasem disagreed with this portrayal, and in 1995 he walked out on the role when Shaggy and Scooby-Doo were to be portrayed in a Burger King commercial. He also did this because the producers of Scooby Doo would not turn Shaggy into a vegan, which Kasem is. Therefore he quit, later to rejoin the crew when they allowed Shaggy to be a vegan, only ten years later, in the series What's New, Scooby-Doo? After solving the mystery of the fake mummy of Friar Gabriello Serra, the true Serra briefly rose from the dead to warn them of "Nibiru", a cataclysm that was inevitable unless " the dog dies." [5]

In developing this series, producers Spike Brandt and Tony Cervone and producer/head writer Mitch Watson began with the original 1968-69 development art for Scooby Doo, Where Are You! (1969) by Joe Ruby and Ken Spears, which included information about the Scooby-Doo characters' ages, parents, and home/school life that never made it onscreen in the original series. In the meantime, Scooby and Shaggy finally get their free all-you-can-eat meal, which includes very hot chili peppers. Shaggy wanting to leave the island and being fine with the monsters "eating Fred and Velma" seems very mean and cowardly even for Shaggy, considering Fred and Velma are two of his best friends. The demons that take over the humans, aren't given a specific name, they're just generalized as "Creatures."

Paper boy: In junior high, he was a paper boy for the Daily Babbler, until he found out his boss stole his bike chain to work his counterfeiting machine, causing him to quit. ( APNSD: A Bicycle Built for Boo!) Daphne is flying the plane wearing her pilot's uniform just before Fred sets up his trap to catch the gremlin. Daphne appears with the gang wearing her usual clothes when the gramlin breaks free, but is not part of the ensuing chase. Once the gramlin is caught Daphne reappears, again wearing her uniform.Matthew Lillard and Freddie Prinze Jr., both co-starred in She's All That, Summer Catch, and Wing Commander. Prinze, Jr. also co-starred with Sarah Michelle Gellar in I Know What You Did Last Summer, and Gellar also made a cameo appearance in She's All That. Lillard and Gellar were also part of the Scream franchise, whilst Lillard played the antagonist in the first film, Gellar played the victim in the second film. In addition, Lillard had also acted with Gellar in the second Scream film, but as a different character in a minor cameo. A raging Halloween party is happening at a fancy mansion. The gang have been invited for a ride on it, but with a panicing pilot, Daphne reveals she has a great knowledge about the plane and how to fly it.
